These systems can be employed for just
about any mineral. The advantage of this type of system is the
dual function, i.e. grinding and drying. Moist feed stock can
be ground to a fineness of d
= 10 µm, whereby during grinding, the product is dried
to a residual moisture of <0.5%. The heated flow of classifying
air is utilised for drying, whereby the energy consumption is
low, because it is the thermal energy yielded from the fan,
mill and the classifier which is used.
This method allows up to 25% of the required drying energy to
be saved.

To control the system, we apply PLC technology for fully automatic
operating mode. Three different control methods are available:
a) as a function of the mill current
b) as a function of the differential pressure above the grinding
table
c) a combination of both of the above
