By integrating its proven and
versatile multi-processing system into an isolator, Alpine has
succeeded in meeting the stringent demands of the pharmaceutical
industry with respect to product and personal protection when
processing high potential chemicals.
The integrated multi-processing system is suitable for a number
of different processes: impact milling, impact milling with
integrated classification, grinding in a spiral jet, opposed
jet milling in a fluidised bed, and ultrafine classification.
The mill, classifying, and metering element is in monobloc design,
i.e. made from one single block of material. All product-contact
parts are made of stainless steel AISI 316 L or equivalent with
a surface roughness of Ra <=0.8 µm.
The two-chamber isolator is operated under negative pressure
and permits an "operator exposure level" OEL of <
1 µg/m3. The a/ß transfer system permits low-contamination
inward and outward transfer. The system is also equipped with
an integrated WIP (washing in place) cleaning system. The isolator
is made completely of stainless steel AISI 316 L with an inside
surface roughness of Ra <=0.8 µm.
Developed in cooperation with a leading pharmaceutical multi,
the complete system was subsequently designed and manufactured
within the Hosokawa group.
