Processing of Sugar

The human body could not exist without sugar. When converted into glucose, sugar supplies energy to the body cells.

Sugar is available in a great variety of finenesses to suit the different requirements of private and commercial consumers.

Alpine sugar mills comminute sugar and sugar substitutes to any demanded fineness in a rational and efficient manner. For example, Alpine fine impact mills ZPS are employed for the fineness range of approx. 99% < 90 - 600 µm, i.e. for standard applications and high throughputs. Alpine classifier mills ZPS are used for fineness values ranging between approx. 99% < 15 - 200 µm. This versatile mill type with integrated classifier makes it possible to meet a great variety of customer-specific requirements.

The systems are laid out and delivered in accordance with customer requirements and joint discussions. What must be taken into consideration is that sugar is an organic product, meaning that under unfavourable conditions, a dust explosion is possible. Because of this, a pressure-shock-proof design with venting or a design that is pressure-shock-proof to 10 bar overpressure is the preferred system design.
