Processing Hydrotalcite, Magnesium Hydroxide, and Aluminium Hydroxide

The above products are used as flame-retardant fillers in plastics and rubber, as mordants in the textile industry, and in cough mixtures and products against hyperacidity in the pharmaceutical industry, etc., etc.

The required end-product fineness is in the range d97 = 2.0 to 3.0 µm, the d50 between 1.0 and 1.5 µm, and the d10 at 0.5 - 0.7 µm. For some applications, the products need to be coated.

photo classifier mill The above-mentioned fineness requirements can be met by using our fluidised bed opposed jet mill. This classifier mill is characterised by an optimum topsize limitation which is achieved by means of the classifier – the speed of which can be varied with a frequency converter – integrated into the top machine section. Dependent on the product, grinding is carried out at low grinding pressure and thus low energy consumption (approx. 0.06 - 0.1 kWh/kg), whereby simultaneous coating without an additional heater is also possible. An electronically controlled loss-in-weight feed control system ensures that the mill is uniformly and optimally loaded.



The flowchart below shows a delivered system that was laid out to meet the above requirements.
